Toronto, Ontario April 22, 2017 - Churches from the United States and Toronto area have partnered with Rendezvous Church of Toronto to sponsor ChainRx 7.0 Free Bike Repair Clinic in Yonge Dundas Square, June 6. Everyone is welcome to kick off bike month by bringing their bike by for a free tune up or minor repair if you bring your own parts. The event is totally free, but if you would like to “join the chain” of kindness, then Rendezvous asked you bring a new full size hygiene product to donate to their Un2Other’s Ministry. All new hygiene items collected through participant donations will go to Un2Others Ministry to directly help support Toronto’s less fortunate, homeless and refugees. A list of items needed can be found at the event website: www.jointhechain.ca.

ChainRx 7.0 is a free bike repair clinic, opened to everyone and partners with churches and local bike shops, who want to give back to the city by tuning up and repairing the city's bicycles for free. Each tuning is worth around $75. If you want to know more about why Rendezvous does the bike clinic, there will be an interactive exhibit in the square called “The Restoration Story.” A group of friendly volunteers are there to answer any of your questions.

“In a world where so many people want something from you, we just want to offer a free gift, an act of kindness, something that will better the city, with no strings attached” said Scott Rourk Lead Pastor at Rendezvous Church. “So many Torontonians offer to pay us for our services and all we ask of them is to join the chain of kindness by paying if forward to someone else. Practical love goes a long way” said Scott Rourk.

Participants can come up with their own ideas to pay it forward, or they can donate new full sized hygiene products at the bike clinic. When enough items are collected, Rendezvous holds Un2Other Care Bag assembly parties around the city where you can volunteer to put the hygiene care bags together.
